Rangers could yet bring more new signings to Ibrox this summer.

Steven Gerrard is unveiled as the new manager of Rangers football Club at Ibrox Stadium on May 4, 2018 in Glasgow, Scotland.

According to The Scottish Sun, Rangers manager Steven Gerrard wants four more new signings this summer to take his total tally to 11.

The Gers were always bracing themselves for a busy summer once they appointed Gerrard as their new manager, and they have so far been active in the transfer market.

Winger Jamie Murphy signed permanently from Brighton and Hove Albion following a promising loan spell, whilst six new signings – Allan McGregor (below), Jon Flanagan, Nikola Katic, Connor Goldson, Scott Arfield and Ovie Ejaria – have all arrived at Ibrox.

Rangers have focused on strengthening their defence so far, but Gerrard should be turning his attention to attacking options soon, though it’s unclear how much money he will have to spend.

Now, The Scottish Sun report that Gerrard does in fact want another four signings, with his current plan to take his total incomings to 11, potentially signing a whole new team at Ibrox.

Gerrard has though been quoted as saying that he doesn’t want to make his squad too big, and may need players to leave before he can press ahead with his plans for new signings.

“I am also aware that if we get the areas sorted out that we feel need sorted it will make the squad too big,” said Gerrard. “We will have to edge a few out and be honest with people and say to them that maybe they are not going to get the game time they want. That is football at this time of year and all players are aware of that,” he added.

Attackers have to be the focus for Gerrard, with Liverpool’s Ben Woodburn (above) one target, but the likes of Eduardo Herrera and Fabio Cardoso need to be moved on for room on the wage bill first, and adding real attacking talent may give Gerrard a well-rounded squad.
