Rangers boss Steven Gerrard has been spotted scouting for new Ibrox additions.
Rangers were always set for a busy summer once they appointed Steven Gerrard as their new manager, but some may be disappointed that only three deals have been struck so far.
Winger Jamie Murphy has signed a permanent deal having joined on loan from Brighton and Hove Albion in January, whilst experienced duo Allan McGregor and Scott Arfield have joined on pre-contract agreements from Hull City and Burnley respectively.
Gerrard will be keen on plenty more signings this summer, and he has been out watching potential transfer targets having officially started work as Rangers manager on Friday.
As noted by the Daily Record, Gerrard was spotted in France at the Toulon Tournament, and he watched England in action as well as Portugal U21 v Japan U21, and Canada U21 v Turkey U21.
It’s unclear just who Gerrard was watching, but his presence at the Canada game may just hint at even a passing interest in reuniting with Liverpool attacker Liam Millar at Ibrox this summer.
Millar played the full 90 minutes as Canada beat their Turkish counterparts in front of Gerrard, and the Rangers boss will be familiar with the 18-year-old forward having managed him at Liverpool.
In September 2016, Millar was handed a professional contract by Liverpool, and impressed under Gerrard this past season with 10 goals and 10 assists in 36 games at youth level.
Rangers certainly need more proven talent in their squad, but Gerrard making checks on a talented young forward to develop would be wise, with Millar certainly fitting the bill from the players Gerrard saw at the Toulon Tournament over the last few days.
