Rangers are reportedly looking to bring a new striker to Ibrox.

Steven Gerrard is unveiled as the new manager of Rangers football Club at Ibrox Stadium on May 4, 2018 in Glasgow, Scotland.

According to the Daily Mail, Rangers are looking to bring striker to Ibrox as Steven Gerrard continues to overhaul his squad this summer.

The Gers landed two experienced performers in goalkeeper Allan McGregor and midfielder Scott Arfield, and then secured a precocious talent in Liverpool’s Ovie Ejaria on loan.

Two defenders arrived last week as Nikola Katic and Connor Goldson signed for the Gers, bringing the total new faces at Ibrox this summer to five – but more are to come.

It’s clear that Rangers need new strikers this summer, and especially given that speculation continues over the future of Alfredo Morelos.

Eduardo Herrera looks set for the exit, and whilst Ryan Hardie has signed a new deal, there may be a case for Gerrard being able to bring in two or even three strikers this summer.

The likes of Oliver McBurnie, Dominic Solanke and even Jermain Defoe have been linked with Rangers, but Gerrard shouldn’t forget about Jason Cummings just yet.

The 22-year-old striker joined Rangers on loan from Nottingham Forest in January, and hit seven goals in 17 games for the Gers before heading back to England earlier this month.

Cummings doesn’t appear to have a future with Forest, and whilst many of his goals came against much weaker opposition – and he struggled massively against Celtic – there is still major talent in the former Hibs striker.

Cummings may not even cost seven figures at this point, and he still has plenty of potential to get even better. With a lack of options in attack and a host of new faces needed, Gerrard should still keep Cummings in mind as a potential signing.
