Rangers are reportedly looking to bring Alex Denny to Ibrox.

Steven Gerrard is unveiled as the new manager of Rangers football Club at Ibrox Stadium on May 4, 2018 in Glasgow, Scotland.

According to the Liverpool Echo, Everton midfielder Alex Denny is a target for Rangers this summer as Steven Gerrard looks to strength his Ibrox squad.

The Gers have already landed two free agents in Allan McGregor and Scott Arfield, but Rangers will remain in the market for a host of new signings to kickstart their revolution.

McGregor and Arfield are two experienced players, but Rangers will need to bring in young players too, and Gerrard appears to have one in mind – which would involve returning to Merseyside.

The former Liverpool boss is looking to raid Everton, as the Liverpool Echo report that Rangers are keen to lure Toffees midfielder Alex Denny to Goodison Park.

The 18-year-old hasn’t yet signed a new contract to stay with Everton, and Rangers are thought to be keen on offering him another option by giving him the chance to move to Ibrox.

Denny has spent his entire career so far with Everton, and featured in the Europa League against Cypriot side Apollon Limassol back in December.

Described as an ‘engine’ in the middle of the park on Everton’s official website, Denny could now follow Gerrard from Merseyside to Glasgow – though his current preference is to stay with Everton.

New Toffees director of football Marcel Brands wants to build with youth at Goodison Park and may yet keep Denny at the club, but Rangers are now seemingly lurking for his signature.
