Glasgow Evening Times claim Rangers will announce the signing of Nicolas Raskin on deadline day in a deal worth £1.75million – and the Belgian midfielder will pen terms at Ibrox until the summer of 2027, after finally agreeing a fee.
Raskin, 21, has been training with the kids for a month now, after talks over a new deal had collapsed. Raskin is out of contract this summer. Michael Beale spoke in his press conference today, keeping cards close to his chest on the deal.
But now, a deal is close. The Evening Times report that Rangers had two offers rejected for Raskin before eventually agreeing on a fee worth £1.75million for the Belgium U21 star. Cheap, given he has played 96 times for Standard Liege.
The report states a deal will be completed and announced on deadline day. Raskin will sign a long-term contract, a deal until June 2027. Liege have worked hard to maximise the fee they would rake in for the midfielder, this month.

It is a brilliant signing. Firstly, because Rangers need a midfielder. They needed one even before veteran Steven Davis was ruled out for the rest of the season, after going under the knife to fix a knee injury. They lack depth in the middle.
Secondly, because Rangers have beaten some big clubs to the signing of Raskin. Leeds in the Premier League, even Barcelona and other European sides. But Rangers have shown the most interest and kept coming back in for Raskin.
Rangers fans had become nervous over whether a deal for Raskin would get over the line. But they will not have to wait much longer, with a deal now set to be confirmed on deadline day. A fee of £1.75million, and a deal until 2027.
