Nicolas Raskin has taken to Instagram for the first time as a Rangers player after the Ibrox club confirmed a move for the Belgian midfielder – with talented star joining Rangers for a fee believed to be in the region of £1.75million.

Raskin, 21, joins Rangers after being forced to train with Liege’s reserves. It comes after talks over a new deal with the Jupiler League side fell through, with Raskin’s previous deal at Liege expiring in June. Rangers have taken advantage.

The Gers have been linked with the Belgium U21 star for the entirety of the window. In the final hours, they finally got their man. It comes after the Evening Times reported on Monday that Rangers had agreed a £1.75m fee with Liege.

Raskin has now taken to Instagram after completing a permanent move to the club. Michael Beale’s second signing as manager, after the arrival of Todd Cantwell at Ibrox from Norwich City. Raskin underlined his delight at a move.

It is unclear if Raskin will be the end of the Ibrox club’s business on deadline day. With less than five hours to go, they will have to move quickly to bring in another. But it is more than likely that the Gers are done in terms of incomings.

Raskin is an important signing. The club needed a midfielder even before veteran Steven Davis picked up a knee injury that will keep him sidelined until the end of the season. Raskin provides the Gers with a real talent, but is ready to go.

It might be that Wednesday night’s fixture away at Hearts comes too early for Raskin, but Saturday’s clash at Ibrox against Ross County might be the ideal chance for Raskin to be handed his debut for Beale’s men. A good signing.
