Rangers will now face a battle with Marseille for winger Zinedine Ferhat, according to a new report from Le10 Sport.
Reports from Foot Mercato in May claimed that Rangers were looking to lure Ferhat away from Nimes and towards Ibrox.
Saint-Etienne and Sassuolo were also in the mix, with Nimes resigned to losing Ferhat now he is inside the final 12 months of his contract.
This new report now claims that Ferhat will be sold for around €5million (£4.3million), and Marseille now want to sign him.
Boss Jorge Sampaoli is believed to be a big fan, and Marseille could now rival Rangers with the added bonus of offering him a stay in France.
The 28-year-old Algerian played mostly as a right-sided winger last season, racking up six goals and 10 assists in 33 Ligue 1 games for Nimes.

Given that he turns 29 next May, this may be Ferhat’s big chance to join a club playing in Europe – and Rangers can offer that.
Rangers have though signed Fashion Sakala, a versatile attacker who can play across the front line, so signing Ferhat may not be a huge priority until Brandon Barker and Jordan Jones move on.
