Rangers talks to lure Todd Cantwell and Tom Davies to Ibrox are ongoing as Michael Beale looks to bring in his first signings as manager – and Kevin Kyle believes both players would be excellent additions, speaking to Open Goal.
Davies, 24, has clocked up an impressive 169 appearances at Everton since breaking into the Toffees side. But this season, he is struggling for game time. His contract expires at the end of the season – and a move is seeming likely.
Meanwhile, Norwich City star Cantwell is also out of contract in the summer. The England Under-21 star took the Premier League by storm when Norwich gained promotion. But, he has fallen out of favour and needs a new platform.
Beale himself has commented on both players – praising them. Vital Football reported earlier this week that Cantwell is in Glasgow to undergo a medical. Now, ex-Rangers striker Kyle gave his take on the reportedly incoming arrivals.
“They’re two very good additions. They are types of players Rangers need. They have too many of the same player Rangers. Jack, Lundstram, Davis, Kamara. All similar. These two could upset the apple cart, good additions for Rangers.”

Kyle: Cantwell and Davies would be excellent additions for Rangers
These are two players that have played regularly in the Premier League, but are still young enough for Beale to mould into Rangers players. They have top-tier quality – but can be signed on the cheap, given their contract situations.
Cantwell would be an incredible coup. While he is struggling to play for Norwich, everyone will remember just how good he was in the Premier League at Norwich. Able to play as a 10, or on either flank, he would be a stunning signing.
Davies is a hard-working midfielder that fits in well with the likes of Ryan Jack and John Lundstram. With Steven Davis out until the end of the season and perhaps, ending his Rangers career in frustration, Davies is a good replacement.
