Dean Jones has told Give Me Sport that Rangers striker Alfredo Morelos could still leave Ibrox come the end of the window with clubs ‘made aware’ of his availability. The Colombian is out of contract at the end of the current season.

Morelos, 26, has starting to show some impressive form since Michael Beale returned to Rangers. Beale has now been in charge of 10 Rangers games, winning nine and drawing one – against Celtic. Morelos has scored four, creating four.

So, Beale will be keen to keep him – especially after two goals and two assists in his last two league games. But, his future remains up in the air. His contract is yet to be sorted out. Mexican side Tigres did show interest in Morelos.

Transfer expert Jones says that while Morelos is in good form, clubs have been made aware of Morelos’ future. He says there is a chance that Morelos could leave Rangers come the end of the window, though Beale is not expecting sales.

“Clubs have been made aware of his situation, his potential availability. It’s at this point when you expect those clubs to come forward because let’s face it, if you’re a bit desperate, this is the moment to solve that with a player like Morelos.”

Jones: Rangers striker Morelos could leave come the end of the window

Morelos remains first choice at Rangers and is perfect for the way Beale wants to play. Giovanni van Bronckhorst liked his striker to sit on the shoulders of the centre-backs – like Antonio Colak. But Morelos comes deep and gets involved.

Proof, in his four assists – alongside his four goals – in Beale’s 10 games. A strong return, that has improved in recent games. Rangers must do everything to keep Morelos as he shows signs of improvement. But, anything can happen.
