Romanian outlet Pro Sport claim that Rangers look set to complete a summer deal for Darius Olaru in a deal worth £5.3million, potentially uniting Ibrox star Ianis Hagi with one of his Romania teammates in the next few months.
Olaru, 24, is currently at Romanian giants Steaua Bucharest. A club he has played for for three years, joining them in January 2020. Since then, the central midfielder has clocked up 117 games in both league and cup, becoming captain.
He has had a hand in 40 goals from the middle of the park, largely playing as a no.8. But the nine-time Romania star has entered the final 18 months of his deal at Steaua. Rangers are keen and are expected to make a summer move.
Indeed, it is claimed that Rangers will make a bid in the summer and a move is now deemed likely. FCSB owner Gigi Becali wants a fee between £5.3million and £7million. Rangers are only willing to pay the lower end of that scale.

Rangers set to complete summer deal for Darius Olaru, worth £5.3million
Rangers have central midfield options. But, delve a little deeper, and it is clear that recruitment is required. Nicolas Raskin has joined the club from Standard Liege for a fee of £1.75million. He got his first assist on Sunday afternoon.
Steven Davis remains on the books but he is out of contract in the summer and the chances are, he could retire. He remains out injured until the end of the season. Ryan Jack is out of contract at Ibrox at the end of the current season.
John Lundstram and Glen Kamara are regular first-teamers, but have been playing with injury. James Sands is only on loan and the chances of him signing a permanent deal, looks unlikely. So, a move for the likes of Olaru is necessary.
