Michael Beale’s Rangers are interested in signing Dion Sanderson from Wolverhampton Wanderers, according to The Sun.

Rangers want to sign Dion Sanderson from Wolverhampton Wanderers

Rangers director of football Ross Wilson and top scout John Park watched Sanderson in action for Birmingham City last week.

The 23-year-old defender is on loan at Championship club Birmingham from Premier League outfit Wolves at the moment.

The report has claimed that Birmingham want to make the loan deal for the young defender permanent.

Good signing for Rangers?

In our opinion, Wolverhampton Wanderers central defender Dion Sanderson would be a good signing for Rangers in the January transfer window.

Now, the youngster may have failed to make a massive impact for Wolves in the Premier League, but the central defender has done well in the lower leagues in England.

Sanderson, who can also operate as a right-back, did well for Queens Park Rangers on loan last season and is performing well for Birmingham at the moment.

The 23-year-old had a loan spell at Sunderland from Wolves in 2020-21.

Lee Johnson was then in charge of the Black Cats, and he described Sanderson as “an absolute Rolls-Royce” in ChronicleLive in February 2021.

It underlines the quality of the young defender who could be a success at Rangers in the Scottish Premiership.
