Vital Football report that Todd Cantwell is already in Glasgow to undergo a Rangers medical ahead of a move to Ibrox this month – with the playmaker linked with a move to Rangers over the past few days, even praised by Michael Beale.
Cantwell, 24, was a player touted with an England call-up as he impressed in the Premier League. A player once touted with a move to some of England’s biggest clubs for eight-figure fees. But his career has declined. His deal ends in June.
This season, he has started just nine of 18 Championship matches – failing to score, or create a single goal. Cantwell needs a new start, one that will give him the platform to go on and shine. A move north of the border might do that.
The Sun reported on the weekend that Rangers want the England Under-21 star. Rangers boss Beale described him as a “fantastic” and “excellent player”. Now, Vital Football report that Cantwell is in Glasgow to undergo a medical.

What a signing this is, for Rangers. Cantwell has all the tools to shine in Scotland – indeed, he already has done in the Premier League as a rookie. Still only 24, it is about unlocking that quality. He has long wanted to leave Norwich.
Now, he will get his chance – perhaps, not the move he might have expected two or three years ago. But, he gets a move to a club as big, if not bigger, than most Premier League clubs. The chance to play in the Champions League.
It is unclear how much Rangers will be paying to sign Cantwell. A player that has seen his value decrease from the many millions adjacent to his name while in England’s top tier. And, out of contract in June. But still, a decent price.
