It has been reported that Defoe is set to join Rangers on loan from Premier League club Bournemouth in the January transfer window.
Rangers boss Gerrard has reportedly been assured by the Ibrox club’s board that Colombia international striker Morelos will not be sold this month.

Morelos is one of the best strikers in the Scottish Premiership and is a key figure in the current Rangers team.
The 22-year-old striker has scored 12 goals in the league so far this season, according to WhoScored, and him staying at Rangers for the rest of the season is certainly going to enhance the Gers’ chances of winning the Scottish Premiership title this season.

According to The Scottish Sun, Steven Davis is set to join Rangers from Southampton this month.
It has been reported that the deal to bring the 34-year-old midfielder has been conduced, but the Northern Ireland international midfielder may not arrive at Rangers until Tuesday.
