Rangers are on the verge of signing Manchester United midfielder Charlie McCann after he travelled up to Glasgow for a medical.

That’s according to The Athletic, who claim that McCann has already arrived in Scotland to put the finishing touches on his move.

Rangers have allegedly been in talks with United for ‘a number of weeks’ to thrash out a deal, with the two clubs discussing a compensation fee.

McCann will join Rangers B at first, but he won’t be able to face Celtic B this weekend after their clash was postponed.

The Manchester Evening News report that Rangers have agreed a deal worth around £750,000 with add-ons as McCann nears a move.

The 19-year-old joined United from Coventry City in 2018, and leaves Old Trafford with a pretty impressive record.

For United’s Under-18’s, McCann hit 12 goals and four assists in 41 games, whilst he picked up five goals and three assists in 21 outings for United’s Under-23’s.

A creative midfield player who become a starter for Rangers in the future, McCann seemingly feels his first-team pathway is greater at Rangers than at United.
