Belgian outlet HLN claim that Rangers are interested in signing Belgian teenager Noah Sadiki with his contract due to expire at the end of the season – as the Gers continue to look for their first senior signing of the transfer window.
Sadiki, 18, is currently at Belgian side Anderlecht. Under Vincent Kompany last season, the two-time Belgium U20 international was promoted to first-team training. This term, the versatile defender has made his debut for the club.
This season, he has clocked up 16 appearances in all competitions for the Belgian giants. Even featuring against West Ham in the Europa Conference League. But, his contract is due to expire at Anderlecht at the end of the term.
The report claims that Rangers are keen to raid Anderlecht and bring the teenager to Ibrox. Rangers have made a signing this month, in the form of Alex Kpakpe from Chelsea. But the young left-back is likely to be for the B-team.
Rangers are yet to make a senior signing. Despite his age, you would suggest that given Sadiki’s first-team outings he is more than ready for senior action. He is able to play right-back, centre-back or in the middle of midfield.

Already in Michael Beale’s era, it is clear that Rangers are lacking in competition for James Tavernier and Borna Barisic. Ridvan Yilmaz has a long-term hamstring injury. Adam Devine is a right-back, but deputised on the left.
That might be the reason behind Kpakpe’s move to Ibrox – but there is still some work to do for him at Rangers. Sadiki, though, is ready to go. His performances for a club like Anderlecht have been impressive so far, this term.
Rangers are able to land Sadiki on a pre-contract arrangement given he is abroad, and in the last six months of his deal. But, the Gers do face competition from PSV Eindhoven – the club they beat to qualify for the group stages.
