Missing out on key players to Leeds and Blackburn while Glasgow Rangers boss could haunt Nottingham Forest manager Mark Warburton.
Under pressure manager Mark Warburton
It is safe to say the 2016/17 season has not panned out the way Mark Warburton imagined.
He had dreamed of leading Glasgow Rangers to the Scottish title, but his present situation has him scrambling to help Nottingham Forest avoid relegation to League One.
Warburton’s side need to go one better than Blackburn on the final day of the season, with both locked on 48 points with one match remaining and one club set for the drop.

His case is not helped by his former Rangers transfer failures coming back to haunt him in one case, and potentially again on the final day.
Blackburn are in the position they are in to avoid the drop after a surprise victory at Aston Villa at the weekend.
They did that through a winner from Danny Graham, who Herald Scotland reported Rangers were tracking last summer.
The Gers missed out on landing Graham on a free transfer, and he has gone on to have a productive year at Rovers.
On the final day of the season Nottingham Forest host Ipswich Town, who will feature a player who Warburton tried to bring to Rangers, Toumani Diagouraga.

Diagouraga played under Warburton at Brentford, and the Daily Record reported how Rangers tried to sign the Frenchman before being pipped to his signature by Leeds United’s late interest.
The midfielder’s spell at Leeds did not work out and he finds himself on loan at Ipswich.
A late season goal to send Nottingham Forest down would be a cruel twist for his former boss to suffer.
