Rangers want Tom Lawrence and are now focusing on signing him as another attacking addition after confirming Antonio Colak’s arrival.

The Gers have secured the signing of Colak after a lengthy chase of the PAOK striker this summer.

Rangers have spent weeks trying to thrash out a deal for the Croatian hitman, but they finally have their man.

Having scored twice for Malmo at Ibrox to knock Rangers out of the Champions League qualifiers last year, Colak will now be hoping for more Glasgow success.

Rangers’ chase for attacking firepower can’t end there though and they seem to be focusing on another forward-thinking signing.

Rangers want Tom Lawrence

The Herald report that Rangers are now turning their attention towards free agent Tom Lawrence as their next potential signing.

It’s suggested that Rangers want Lawrence to follow Colak to Ibrox, giving Giovanni van Bronckhorst another attacking threat.

The problem for Rangers is that Sheffield United also want to sign Lawrence, meaning Rangers face a real fight.

Lawrence is a free agent having decided to leave Derby County at the end of his contract.

The 28-year-old impressed for the Rams last season, racking up 11 goals and five assists.

Lawrence mostly played as a left-sided winger cutting in on his right foot, but he has also played behind a striker.

The Welsh international is a major threat to score from long range and his availability on a free transfer makes him hugely appealing.

A former Manchester United talent, Lawrence was hailed as a ‘top player’ by Frank Lampard during their time together at Pride Park.

Rangers will need more goals and creativity with Joe Aribo on his way to Southampton and going for Lawrence – a fully-developed player at 28 just like Colak – could be Rangers’ way to replace the Nigerian international in the final third.
