Ally McCoist has urged Rangers to sign Gareth Bale on a free transfer after his Real Madrid exit, claiming the Wales star would be adored by the Ibrox support. Bale has just guided Wales into the World Cup finals.
Bale, 32, has left Real Madrid after nine years at the club – where he won five Champions League titles and three La Liga winner’s medals. He featured 258 times in all competitions, producing 173 goal involvements.
But now, the 103-time Wales international is a free agent. He has been linked with the likes of Tottenham and Newcastle – as well as Rangers. Cardiff City has also been mentioned as a possibility for the Wales ace.

On Sunday, he scored the free-kick that sent Wales to the 2022 World Cup in Qatar – ending a 64-year wait. In reaction to that, Rangers legend McCoist has urged his old side on TalkSPORT to bring him to the club for the 22-23 season.
“If I was Rangers, I’d go offer him something as well. He wants to enjoy himself. We all know he’s a big golf fan, we’ve got the best golf courses. I’d bring him up here, just have a year up here. The fans will love him, absolutely love him.”
McCoist has urged Rangers to sign Bale – good Ibrox addition?
Bale needs a club where he can feel comfortable. One where he can go in and tell the management, in this case Gio van Bronckhorst, that he cannot train everyday. That he might not be able to play every game.
But that he will produce on a weekend, or possibly in the Champions League. Bale spoke to Ramsey earlier on in the season when Ramsey was at Ibrox, and said Ramsey was “enjoying it”, branding Rangers a “big club”.
He knows the size of the Gers, and he will know what it is like to play for them from Ramsey. Rangers have got to put an offer together and if you are Bale, it will surely be quite tempting.
