Kris Boyd has told Sky Sports – as per the Evening Times – that Rangers do not have a player like Celtic attacker Kyogo Furuhashi at Ibrox when comparing Alfredo Morelos, as Celtic continue to cruise towards the Scottish Premiership title.
Kyogo, 28, is in the form of his life. Clocking up 36 games this season, the Japan star has a whopping 24 goals and has also laid on four assists. Already a Premiership champion, the £4.5m man is scoring the goals to take Celtic to the title.
Meanwhile at Rangers, the criticism for Morelos continues to come in. That is despite scoring six goals and laying on four assists in the 12 league games he has played since Michael Beale arrived. He has only started nine of those games.
Ibrox icon Boyd continued that criticism of the Colombia international. With Morelos out of contract in June, Boyd said that Celtic have a player that performs week in, week out – while Morelos has lacked the ability to do that for Rangers.
“Celtic have got one [Kyogo] who constantly turns up for his work and puts in a shift every single week. Rangers don’t have that when Alfredo Morelos plays. I think Morelos’ time is up. Beale is probably becoming frustrated as well.”

The amount of criticism Morelos has got since Beale’s arrival has been heavy and perhaps, slightly unfounded. His goal return has been decent, scoring seven in Beale’s 16 games – laying on five assists. Of course, it is not on Kyogo’s level.
With Morelos looking more and more likely to leave Glasgow in the summer, Rangers need to find themselves a gem like Kyogo this summer. But that it is easier said than done and Ross Wilson’s work in the window has not been perfect.
