Ibrox chief Dave King has suggested that Rangers boss Mark Warburton will be backed in the January transfer window and beyond.

Rangers chairman Dave King has been quoted by The Scottish Sun as saying that the board will continue to their recruitment in the near future.
The Gers were full of optimism heading into the season, having won the Scottish Championship last term, returned to the Premiership, and made some impressive summer signings.

However, it’s been an up-and-down first few weeks of the season. Rangers were hammered 5-1 by Old Firm rivals Celtic, marquee summer signing Joey Barton has been suspended, another addition could be out for the season in Niko Kranjcar, and Mark Warburton’s men lie in fifth place right now.
That’s already nine points behind league leaders Celtic despite having played a game more than the Bhoys, and there is some mounting pressure on manager Warburton.
Some of the summer transfer business hasn’t quite hit the mark for Rangers, but with an ultimate goal of a title challenge with Celtic once again, the Gers must get their future business spot on.
Rangers manager Mark Warburton
Ahead of today’s game against Kilmarnock, Rangers chairman Dave King has been speaking about the club’s finances, having posted a £3.3m loss in the last financial year.
King, as quoted by The Scottish Sun, suggested that he and the Rangers board will continue their recruitment work, stating that plans are being put in place ahead of the January transfer window, with manager Warburton being backed in the market.
King did though add that only Celtic have a bigger budget than Rangers, and he and the board are expecting ‘significant returns’ sooner or later, which will put some added pressure on manager Warburton.

“The board has provided a playing budget, vastly superior to all but one other club, which should see significant returns,” said King. “The ultimate goal is to return Rangers to the very top as quickly as possible. The directors have supported the management team each time the transfer windows open.”
“Rangers have 11 new players despite my statements that we only anticipated five to seven additions. This club cannot stand still or lose ground and the board will continue to back the manager. Plans are being put in place to continue the recruitment process to meet the greater challenges that lie ahead. This board will not rest until Rangers is reunited with regular triumphs,” he added.
