Rangers teenager Serge Atakayi has taken to Twitter to suggest that he found life in Glasgow tough to begin with – but he has settled in, and is really enjoying his time under new manager Pedro Caixinha.

The Gers added younsters Myles Beerman, Ursene Mouanda and Amin Bouzaig last summer, and also managed to land something of a coup by signing Serge Atakayi.

The 18-year-old winger, born in DR Congo, came up through the ranks with FF Jaro in Finland, and despite some Premier League interest, he joined Rangers in August.

Atakayi has spent most of the season playing with the Rangers development side, and his performances have sparked suggestions that he should be given a play in the Gers first team before the end of the season.

Known as a pacey winger with an eye for goal, Atakayi looks to be one for the future for Rangers, and a player for Caixinha to develop alongside fellow youngsters Beerman and David Bates.

Today, Atakayi answered questions from fans on the Rangers Youth Twitter account, and admitted to finding his first month with the club ‘tough’.

Atakayi suggested that he he is now more settled in, and feels that he knows Glasgow and can speak better English better than when he first arrived at Ibrox.

Atakayi added that he has ‘really enjoyed’ life under new Rangers manager Caixinha, and the Portuguese boss has been telling him to ‘keep going and work hard’ in his pursuit of first-team football.
