Rangers striker Dapo Mebude has commented on Steven Gerrard’s praise.

Rangers striker Dapo Mebude has told The Herald that he will ‘always remember’ Steven Gerrard praising him earlier this year.
The Gers have two big-name strikers in Alfredo Morelos and Jermain Defoe, but manager Gerrard surprisingly chose not to bring in another new face up top.
Rangers allowed Kyle Lafferty, Andrew Dallas, Zak Rudden, Joe Dodoo, Eduardo Herrera and Ryan Hardie to leave Ibrox this summer, but didn’t sign anyone to replace them.
That at least means that some young strikers may have an opportunity to impress at some point this season, and Mebude will be hoping he benefits.
The 18-year-old Scot has been coming through the Rangers ranks, and has been tipped for a bright future by many supporters who have seen him in action.
Boss Gerrard added his praise earlier this year, telling The Scottish Sun that he feels Mebude has ‘a huge future’ and ‘big potential’, backing him for huge success.

Mebude has now addmited that he will ‘always remember’ Gerrard’s comments, as they gave him a lot of confidence and make him want to work even harder to prove Gerrard right.
“When the manager said that, it was great and it is something that I will always remember,” said Mebude. “For him to say that, it meant a lot to me and it gives me a lot of confidence. It makes me want to work even harder to make sure that I reach where I want to reach in the game. Every day, I am pushing to get better and to make that impact,” he added.
