Ibrox side Glasgow Rangers are linked to the 24-year-old.
Reported Rangers target Jamie Walker has been left out of the Hearts squad for Saturday’s League Cup clash with Dunfermline Athletic.
The 24-year-old has been linked with a £1 million move to Rangers this summer but the trail appears to have gone a little cold.
Gers manager Pedro Caixinha has seen two bids knocked back for the talented winger, the latest of which was for £600,000, according to The Edinburgh News.
That was well over a month ago but The Scottish Sun now report that Walker has been omitted for this afternoon’s clash at Tynecastle.
Caixinha watched him two weeks ago, when he scored in a friendly against Newcastle, but the report goes on to claim that the omission is for “football reasons” and adds that there have been no fresh developments over his switch to Ibrox.
If Walker’s move to Rangers breaks down over Caixinha’s refusal to pay an additional £400k then the Gers’ fanbase should be furious.
Walker is a fine talent who netted 12 Premiership goals last season. He is one of the few arrivals who could boast experience in Scottish football if he were to join, with the vast majority of Caixinha’s signings being foreign imports.
