Rangers are attempting to bring midfielder Greg Docherty to Ibrox.

Rangers have already brought in three new faces this month, but work is ongoing in an attempt to equip manager Graeme Murty with more additions.
After tying up a permanent move for loanee Declan John, Rangers have now brought in Sean Goss, Jamie Murphy and Jason Cummings on loan from English clubs.
With more than two weeks to go until the end of the transfer window, Rangers are busy working on other signings, with another midfielder seemingly on Murty’s wish list.

The Daily Record report that Rangers have made a £300,000 bid for Hamilton Academical midfielder Greg Docherty, but that offer has been rejected – possibly opening the door for Preston North End.
It’s claimed that Preston have joined the race to sign Docherty this month, and they may feel that they have a trump card over Rangers as they attempt to hijack Murty’s move for the midfielder.
Docherty’s former Hamilton boss Alex Neil is currently in charge at Deepdale, and the prospect of a reunion could be appealing for the Scottish ace, who featured under Neil before his move to Norwich City.

Docherty, 21, already has more than 100 first-team appearances to his name for Hamilton, and his impressive displays mean a January move may well be on the cards if a fee of £600,000 is offered.
Preston, who are searching for another midfielder to cover for the often-suspended Ben Pearson, are now entering the race, and the presence of Neil at Deepdale may give them real belief that they can hijack Rangers and lure Docherty to England, rather than see him head to Ibrox.
