Glasgow Rangers manager Pedro Caixinha reportedly wants to bring Fabio Cardoso to Ibrox from Vitoria Setubal.
Vitoria Setubal manager Jose Couceiro has admitted to The Daily Record that Fabio Cardoso could join Rangers in the summer transfer window.
According to The Daily Record, Rangers manager Pedro Caixinha wants to sign Cardoso from Vitoria Setubal in the summer.
The 23-year-old central defender will reportedly cost £1 million, and Vitoria Setubal manager Couceiro has admitted that the player could leave the Portuguese club for the Scottish Premiership giants.
“I want to keep Fabio,” Couceiro told The Daily Record. “But my team is not as big and strong as Rangers. We are a middle team in Portugal and we don’t have power.
“If Rangers want a player of Vitoria, we do not have the power to prevent it or to keep this guy. Obviously, he is one of my best players and I want him to stay.
“To make a good team, you need good players always but this is life. I understand. If Fabio is wanted by Rangers, of course, it is good for him.”

Couceiro’s comments suggest that if Rangers make the right offer, then they will certainly get to sign Cardoso.
Cardoso is a good and promising centre-back, and the Portuguese player would be a good signing for Rangers.
Having been at Benfica before his move to Vitoria Setubal in 2016, the 23-year-old has the experience of playing for big clubs, which is going to be important if he is going to be succeed at Ibrox.
Rangers finished third in the Scottish Premiership this season, and will be determined to close the gap between themselves and Old Firm rivals Celtic during the 2017-18 campaign.
