Pedro Caixinha has been dismissed by Rangers – but will former Crystal Palace boss Frank de Boer take his place at Ibrox?

The managerial merry-go-round is creaking into action once again. According to the BBC, Rangers have dismissed Pedro Caixinha after just seven months in charge following a 1-1 draw with Kilmarnock at Ibrox on Wednesday night that leaves Rangers looking down into mid-table rather than up at the runaway leaders.
As it stands, Rangers lie eight points adrift of Old Firm rivals Celtic after a late Chris Burke leveller for Killie in midweek. Now, just half a year after Caixinha was appointed to replace Mark Warburton after a month of non-stop speculation, talk once again returns to who will be the latest manager to try and withstand the Ibrox hotseat.
And despite a disastrous four-game spell at Crystal Palace that leaves his reputation in tatters, it appears most Rangers supporters would willing to give Frank de Boer the chance to get his managerial career back on track at his old stomping ground.

The legendary Dutch defender, who played 17 games for Rangers in 2003/04, cut his coaching teeth with a dream six-year spell at former club Ajax, winning four Eredivisie titles.
De Boer has been sacked from his last two jobs at Inter Milan and Crystal Palace after a combined 19 games, however, the 47-year-old undermined by a stubborn refusal to alter his tactics, divisions with key players and some truly dire football.

Nonetheless, if Rangers supporters had their say, De Boer should be on the club’s shortlist.
