Ibrox club Glasgow Rangers reportedly wanted Niall McGinn for the Gers, and he is now on the radar of Hibernian.

Rangers reportedly wanted to sign Niall McGinn in the summer transfer window. It was reported by The Irish Sun that Ibrox club Rangers were looking at the possibility of recruiting the former Celtic star on a free transfer following his departure from Aberdeen.
Nothing materialised, and McGinn, who can operate as a winger or as a striker, left Aberdeen for Gwangju in South Korea. The 30-year-old is now a free agent, and was at Easter Road on Sunday during the Scottish Premiership game between Hibernian and Celtic, which finished in a 2-2 draw.

Hibernian manager Neil Lennon managed McGinn at Celtic, and he has said that he wants to sign the Northern Ireland international attacker for Hibs.
“We’ve expressed an interest, that’s as far as it’s gone,” Lennon told The Scottish Sun. “He was invited along to watch the game and hopefully he’ll be pleased with what he saw.”

McGinn would have been a good signing for Rangers in the summer transfer window and in January, but it is hard to see the Northern Ireland international join the Gers given his past with Celtic and the fact that he knows Hibernian manager Lennon well.
