Rangers new boy Nnamdi Ofoborh has paid an emotional tribute to Bournemouth as he starts the “next chapter” of his career – and insists his time at the Cherries turned him into the player Rangers manager Steven Gerrard was so keen to sign.
Ofoborh moves to Ibrox on a Bosman after his Bournemouth contract came to an end, five years after he first joined the Cherries, and will be hoping to make an immediate impact after an injury-hit few months on loan at Wycombe.
The Nigerian youth international also thanked his teammates who “turned into brothers” as he moves north, insisting on Instagram that he wouldn’t change anything in his career so far.
“As this chapter in my life closes, I just want to thank AFC Bournemouth for taking me in at 16 and helping me grow into the player I am today,” he said.
“Teammates who have turned into brothers. I wouldn’t change it for nothing. Thank you.
“Thank God, I can’t wait for this next chapter…let’s go!”

Ofoborh arrives at Ibrox at the ideal time to make a massive impact, with Rangers looking for new options in midfield – and potentially having to cope with the loss of Glen Kamara.
The former Bournemouth man needs to hit the ground running though if he wants to avoid ending up with the sort of Rangers career ‘enjoyed’ by Jake Hastie.
The next few months will be the most important of his Rangers career and the Nigerian needs to be ready to grab the opportunity with both hands.
