Rangers ace Josh Windass has commented on his role at Ibrox.

Rangers midfielder Josh Windass has told Rangers TV, as quoted by the Glasgow Evening Times, that he feels he offers something different to his team-mates at Ibrox.

Windass, 22, was one of the Football League’s top talents last season, smashing 17 goals in 35 goals for League Two side Accrington Stanley as he helped fire them to the play-offs.

The attacking midfielder ended the season with Accrington, but he had decided in January to sign a pre-contract agreement with Rangers, meaning he joined up with the Glasgow club over the summer.

A pre-season injury has limited Windass’ immediate impact at Ibrox, and he’s only been able to play five of the club’s Scottish Premiership games so far this season.

In the recent win 3-0 win over Kilmarnock, Windass starred for Rangers and earned a place in Chris Sutton’s Team of the Week for his performance as he starts to finally show Gers fans what he can do.

Ahead of this weekend’s game at Ross County, playmaker Windass has been speaking to Rangers TV, as quoted by the Glasgow Evening Times, about how he has settled in at Ibrox, and looked at his role in Mark Warburton’s side.

Windass claims that he offers something different to any other player at Warburton’s disposal, and he thinks that it’s important to differentiate yourself when new to a football club.

The son of former Aberdeen attacker Dean Windass, Josh added that it was hard missing out on the opening to the season through injury, but is now looking forward to a run of games – something he should get given that Joey Barton is suspended and Niko Kranjcar is out injured for the rest of the season.

“I offer something different to the players who are here,” said Windass. “If you are new that’s what you have to do. I felt I had a good pre-season but it was hard missing the first (league) game. You miss out on the camaraderie between the lads too but I’m looking forward to a run of games now,” he added.
