The Rangers academy product had reportedly asked to leave Ibrox, where a new era has begun under Steven Gerrard.

Rangers striker Ryan Hardie has congratulated Liam Kelly on the goalkeeper’s permanent move away from Ibrox.
Rangers confirmed Kelly’s transfer to Livingston on Friday evening, for which they will receive an undisclosed fee.
The 22-year-old spent the past two seasons on loan at the Tony Macaroni Arena, both of which ended in promotion.
And Kelly’s most recent spell there saw him joined for the final five months by Hardie, whose Rangers contract expired last week.
As yet, there has been no word from either the player or Ibrox regarding a new deal.
And fans of both clubs are wondering whether or not another reunion with Kelly at Livingston could now be on the cards.
“Class mate buzzing for you @liamm_kelly what a team,” Hardie posted on Twitter.
These are some of the replies…
Kelly joined Rangers as a 10-year-old and progressed through the ranks at Auchenhowie.
However, his chances of breaking into Steven Gerrard’s immediate plans had grown increasingly bleak, with Allan McGregor recently added to a goalkeeping pool already comprising Wes Foderingham, Jak Alnwick and Robby McCrorie.
