Rangers striker Kenny Miller has told The Scottish Sun that playing for the Gers could help Ryan Jack earn a place in the Scotland national football team.

Jack recently joined Rangers after leaving Scottish Premiership rivals Aberdeen at the end of the 2016-17 campaign.

The 25-year-old defensive midfielder has arrived at Ibrox with a strong reputation, and Miller has praised the Gers for signing the former Scotland Under-21 international.

Miller has also stated that playing for Rangers could see Jack earn a place in the Scotland national football team.

“We all know Ryan, we know what he’s about, and he’s settled in pretty well,” Miller told The Scottish Sun about Jack. “He’s still a young lad so he’ll look to improve and kick on to the next level here.

“I’m sure Ryan has aspirations to play for the national team. Coming here and playing well for this club will definitely lead to that if he gets a starting slot.”

Jack is one of the best defensive midfielders in Scotland, and moving to Rangers is certainly a step-up for the player.

Rangers are one of the biggest clubs in the world and have a global fanbase, and the defensive midfielder will be under pressure to perform week in week out in front of 50,000 or so supporters.

Pedro Caixinha’s side finished third in the Scottish Premiership last season and will be aiming to close the gap on Old Firm rivals Celtic during the 2017-18 campaign.
