Rangers striker Kenny Miller has suggested to The Glasgow Evening Times that Celtic are a better team this season than they were during the 2015-16 campaign.

Celtic won the Scottish Premiership last season, while so far this campaign they have clinched the league title and the Scottish League Cup.

The Bhoys have also reached the final of Scottish Cup this season and featured in the group stage of the Champions League.

Under Brendan Rodgers, who was appointed the Celtic boss in the summer of 2016, the Glasgow giants have played good and entertaining football.

Rangers striker Miller, who is 37 years age and is a former Celtic player, has praised the Hoops’ performances this season.

“I know Celtic were champions last year, but they weren’t great and we saw that in the semi-final,” Miller told The Glasgow Evening Times.

“I know we only won on penalties but I felt we were closer to them on the day, we were the better football team, we looked like we had a better game plan.

“Look what a manager and a few big name signings can do. Better quality, higher quality signings and then reinvigorating the good players that were there. We can look at that.”

Celtic are a stronger team this season than they were during the 2016-17 campaign, having signed winger Scott Sinclair and striker Moussa Dembele in the summer of 2016.

Rangers won automatic promotion from the Scottish Championship to the Scottish Premiership at the end of the 2015-16 campaign.
