Rangers striker Joe Garner has told The Scottish Sun that he would not have to cancel his wedding in the summer.

Garner plans to get married during the summer, although he and his Rangers teammates will have to report for pre-season duty on June 5, according to The Scottish Sun.

According to The Daily Record, the 29-year-old striker, signed from Preston North End in the summer of 2016 for a transfer fee reported by talkSPORT to be worth £1.5 million, would have to rearrange his wedding plans.

The former England Under-19 international, though, has made it clear that his wedding will go ahead as planned.

Garner has revealed that he has spoken to Rangers manager Pedro Caixinha, and that the duo have reached an agreement.

“I have spoken to the gaffer and everything is fine,” Garner told The Scottish Sun regarding his wedding plans. “He has been fine with it so I don’t know where the story came from.

“I am getting married back home on June 16, although I think I’ll be back in Glasgow for the honeymoon!”

Much was expected of Garner when he joined Rangers in the summer of 2016, but the former Nottingham Forest and Watford striker has endured a disappointing season at Ibrox.

Rangers fans, though, should have faith in the 29-year-old, who could become an important player for the team next season.
