Rangers striker Dapo Mebude was in action for Scotland’s Under-19’s last night.
Rangers fans are patiently waiting for their side to return to action, but they’ve been given a glimpse of the future by their youngsters.
Scotland’s 6-0 win over San Marino didn’t really erase the memory of last week’s 4-0 thrashing at Russia, with many having their say on the state of Scottish football.
There are some hugely talented young players coming through for Scotland, and that was proven on Tuesday evening as their Under-19’s beat Germany.
At Partick Thistle’s Firhill Stadium, Scotland claimed a 1-0 victory, with Rangers winger Josh McPake scoring the only goal of the game on the stroke of half time.
Rangers had five players involved; goalscorer McPake, as well as James Maxwell, Ciaran Dickson, Kai Kennedy and striker Dapo Mebude, who was actually praised even more than McPake.
Mebude, 18, was born in London but represents Scotland at the moment, and has been backed for a bright future having already made his first-team debut for Rangers under Steven Gerrard.
The teenage attacker led the line for Scotland last night, and earned praise from a host of fans on Twitter after a superb performance.
Some called Mebude an ‘unreal talent’ and ‘different class’, believing that he can go on to become a real player for Rangers and for Scotland – as long as England don’t swoop in and take him.
