Rangers midfielder Stephen Kelly is attracting interest from teams in England and Scotland in a potential early blow for boss Giovanni van Bronckhorst.
That’s according to a report from the Daily Record, who claim that Kelly could leave Ibrox when the transfer window opens.
A number of Scottish and English clubs are believed to be keen on signing Kelly in January.
It’s claim that a number of clubs wanted to sign Kelly over the summer, but Rangers chose to keep him at Ibrox.
The 21-year-old midfielder has come through the Rangers ranks but has made just three first-team appearances.
After loan spells at Ayr United and Ross County, Kelly will have been hoping for a Rangers breakthrough.
That just hasn’t happened though and Kelly could look to leave Rangers in January, either on loan or permanently.
What could change things for Kelly is that Rangers now have a new manager in Giovanni van Bronckhorst.
The Dutchman was confirmed as Rangers’ new boss earlier today and will have decisions to make at Ibrox.
If Van Bronckhorst isn’t a huge fan of Kelly, then the young midfielder – called a ‘magician’ by Ewan Urain – may well look to leave Rangers and seek playing time elsewhere.
