Rangers defender Niko Katic is set to leave Ibrox before the end of the transfer window next week after spending a year on the sidelines, and reports in his homeland claim Dinamo Zagreb are keen on a move for the Gers star.
Katic has been sidelined since a serious knee injury suffered in pre-season last year with his only competitive appearance since coming in Rangers B’s win over Dumbarton in the Challenge Cup.

According to Croatian outlet Sportske Novosti (via the Daily Record), Dinamo Zagreb want to lure Katic back – although Rangers are unlikely to be open to letting Katic go permanently.
It had been previously claimed that Katic had not future at Ibrox before the player himself and Steven Gerrard publicly contradicted them.
The defender, who is a big favourite with Rangers fans, is clearly well down the pecking order at Ibrox though so a short-term move is definitely in his interests.
A year on the sidelines will have done him no favours and he simply can’t afford to be watching from the stands most weeks as Rangers defend their Scottish Premiership title.
The likes of Connor Goldson, Fil Helander, Leon Balogun and Jack Simpson are all ahead of him for a place in the side so minutes on the pitch for Katic will be as rare as hen’s teeth this season.

If Katic doesn’t get a loan move sorted out before the transfer window closes, it might just be the beginning of the end for him as a Rangers player in the long-term.
