Rangers defender Borna Barisic is out of tomorrows final Euro 2020 group game against Scotland, Croatia boss Zlatko Dalic has confirmed – however he has travelled to Glasgow with the rest of the squad.
The left-back missed the opening two games, remaining in Croatia as his team-mates took on the Czech Republic at Hampden, after a recurrence of the back injury that ended his season early at Ibrox.
Barisic’s place in the side have been filled by Josko Gravdiol and the RB Leipzig full-back now looks certain to start at Hampden tomorrow night.
Both sides need a win to reach the last 16 but with Croatia having never beaten Scotland before, the 2018 World Cup finalists will need a historic win to avoid going out in the group stage.
Rangers will be relieved as Barisic’s woes appear to be easing

Barisic’s continuing injury woes will be a concern for Rangers boss Steven Gerrard ahead of a massive campaign for the Light Blues domestically and in Europe, however, the fact he appears to be nearing fitness will be a positive for Steven Gerrard.
A Champions League qualifiers in August will be the first real test of Gerrard’s side in the new season and the Rangers boss will be hoping that Barisic will be well over his injury by then.
The Croatian will liely have some extra time off to recuperate after the finals and avoid a further flare up of the problem that’s left him unable to contribute for his country so far at Euro 2020.
