Rangers have been boosted ahead of today’s Old Firm clash after striker Fashion Sakala took to Instagram and confirmed he is fit for this afternoon’s Ibrox showdown.
The summer signing has missed Rangers last few games through injury but a simple four-word message on the social media site last night will have no doubt pleased Rangers fans.
Writing ‘happy to be back,’ Sakala appears to be available for selection this afternoon as Rangers look to kick their season into gear with a big win over their bitter rivals.
Sakala was one of a host of players who were left out of Thursday’s Europa League clash with Alashkert and will be hoping that he gets the chance to sample the Old Firm for the first time.
The former KV Oostende star has had a disjointed start to his Rangers career as niggly injuries and squad regulations have seen him come in and out of the side.
If he is fit enough to start, that could see the Gers line up with a front three of Sakala, Alfredo Morelos and Kemar Roofe as they welcome Celtic to Ibrox for the first time this season.
With the likes of Ryan Kent and Scott Wright doubtful after picking up injuries, Sakala’s return could just come at the perfect time for Steven Gerrard’s side.
