Rangers midfielder reflects on December win over Celtic.
Rangers midfielder Ryan Jack has won the club’s goal of the season award for his strike against Celtic.
Jack’s goal in the 1-0 win at Ibrox back in December won the award partly for it’s magnitude as well as the execution.
Jack remains immensely proud of the match winner, and believes Rangers probably should have won by more than the single goal.
He told the club’s official website: “We are not far away – both times we have lost the Old Firm game it has been very close and the time we won, it was really convincing at Ibrox.”
Rangers have one more game against Celtic to play later this season, at Ibrox.
The Gers lost to Celtic a fortnight ago, losing 2-1, playing most of the game with 10 men.
Jack said that teammates including Andy Halliday told him to treasure the memory of the Old Firm winner in December forever.
He said: “You have the likes of Graham Dorrans and Andy Halliday who have said to me – ‘look, you are going to be remembered for scoring a winner in an Old Firm match for the rest of your life.
“At the minute, you don’t really get time to think about that, but when my career finishes and I look back, there is no doubt it will probably be the most special point in my career.”
Jack can create even more ‘special’ moments if he leads Rangers to silverware.
