Rangers star Aaron Ramsey has hinted on Instagram that he could finally get his first start for Giovanni van Bronckhorst’s side on Saturday. The Wales star was handed his second outing for the Gers on Wesnesday night.
With Rangers 2-0 up and cruising at Ibrox against Hibernian thanks to goals from James Tavernier and Alfredo Morelos, Ramsey was given 15 minutes. He looked composed, completing all five of his passes and having a shot.
Ramsey has now made two substitute appearances, having missed the Old Firm derby defeat to Celtic due to a lack of match fitness. He had only played 112 minutes for Juventus in the first half of the season.
But after his second outing, and ahead of Saturday evening’s Scottish Cup clash against Annan Athletic – Ramsey posted on Instagram. He underlined his delight at his second outing, before hinting he could start against Annan.
Ramsey hint: Rangers clash against Annan ideal next step
Van Bronckhorst has been wary of throwing Ramsey into matches against Celtic, Hearts and Hibernian. A tricky run of games, and his caution is understandable. But now, Annan presents the ideal opportunity.
With the opposition somewhat reduced and Rangers needing a creative spark to break down what will be a defensive-minded side, it is the ideal chance for Ramsey to get 60 minutes under his belt – or more.
Indeed, his Instagram suggests he might get just that – with a hint and an egg timer when discussing this weekend’s cup clash.
