Glasgow Rangers midfielder is struggling for form at a key time, when Rangers need him most.

Ovie Ejaria of Rangers controls the ball during the Ladbrokes Scottish Premiership match between Rangers and Motherwell at Ibrox Stadium on November 11, 2018 in Glasgow, Scotland.

Rangers midfielder Ovie Ejaria needs to prove his early season performances were no flash in the pan.

Ejaria made an impact early on for Steven Gerrard’s side, and was especially bright in the Europa League.

In recent weeks he has struggled, ever since the Scottish League Cup final.

Rangers have been here before with loanees who flatter to deceive.

Last year Rangers got excited about the performances of loanee Sean Goss, who was excellent in his first two months at Ibrox.

Queens Park Rangers' Sean Goss during the Sky Bet Championship match between Queens Park Rangers and Cardiff City at Loftus Road on March 4, 2017 in London, England.

After a poor display in the Old Firm derby, Goss lost his place, and never regained it back.

Ejaria is still a regular for Rangers, but on his recent displays, you have to wonder for how much longer?

Rangers are looking to strengthen in January and there is likely to be greater competition for his place in midfield.

Steven Gerrard has a lot of faith in the youngster, but he needs to step his game up.

If he doesn’t, he will find himself back in the same place as Goss, sitting on the sidelines for his parent club.
