Waghorn has endured a difficult second season with Glasgow Rangers.
Rangers star Martyn Waghorn has issued an emphatic response when asked whether he needed to hold clear the air talks with Mark Warburton following a difficult few months at Ibrox, the Evening Times reports.
The Evening Times reports that talks over Waghorn’s new deal with the Gers had initially stalled, while the striker also had to work his way back up the pecking order following an injury.

But with the 26-year-old now back in the starting line-up, it appears that things are starting to click into place for the forward. However, while some may assume that a conversation was needed to heal any rumoured rift between player and manager, Waghorn has insisted that his relationship with the boss never suffered.
“Definitely not,” he said, as reported by the Evening Times, when asked whether clear the air talks had been required.

“Since I have come in the gaffer has been brilliant with us. He has always talked to us, he is always explaining things to us. I have had a relationship with the gaffer in the past in terms of speaking.
“He is one of these managers you can really speak to. He gives you a lot of confidence. Trust me, there have never been any words or anything like any of the stories which have come out.”

Waghorn certainly appears to be on his way back to rediscovering the form he showed in the Scottish Championship last season, having bagged both of the Light Blues’ goals in the 2-1 win over Hamilton earlier in the month.
And Warburton will be hoping that he continues to get back towards his best as he has the potential to make a massive difference when Rangers host their Old Firm rivals Celtic this Saturday.
