Former Rangers defender Arthur Numan thinks it is “such a shame” Ibrox midfielder Ryan Jack had to miss out on a place at Euro 2020 through injury as he hailed the Gers linchpin for maturing into a “top-quality midfielder.”
Jack had to undergo surgery to fix a problem that seriously disruspted his season, forcing him to miss Scotland’s first major tournament in 23 years.
The Rangers midfielder should be fit in time for the Light Blues returning to pre-season training but Dutch legend Numan would have liked to have seen him bossing the midfield for Steve Clarke’s side at the Euros.
“I would have liked for Ryan Jack to be in there, and it’s such a shame he is missing out through injury,” Numan told the Sunday Post.
“He was brilliant for Rangers last season. He has matured into a top-quality midfielder, and a leader.”
Getting Jack fit for Champions League qualifiers crucial for Rangers

Jack missed half of last season as Rangers romped to the Premiership title but his importance in crucial games, particularly in Europe, can’t be understated.
Getting Jack back to full fitness for the upcoming Champions League qualifiers will be vital for Steven Gerrard’s side in their bid to reach the group stages.
Having ended the season struggling for numbers in midfield, Jack’s return can’t come soon enough for the Light Blues as he nears a return to training.
