Rangers star Kenny Miller has told the Daily Mail that he has been impressed with the names linked with moves to Ibrox, with the rest of the squad also excited.

The Gers ended their season with a 2-1 win away at St Johnstone on Sunday afternoon, with Miller and Jon Toral both getting on the scoresheet for Pedro Caixinha’s men.

The win in Perth brings an end to Rangers’ disappointing season overall, as they finish in third place in the Scottish Premiership table, whilst finishing a whopping 39 points behind Old Firm rivals and title winners Celtic.

Caixinha now faces a huge summer as he looks to not only bring his own players in, but also move players out as Rangers prepare for a huge overhaul under new boss Caixinha.

Recent speculation has linked Rangers with a host of players; The Scottish Sun claim that Portugal international Bruno Alves has agreed to join the club once Rangers strike a deal with Cagliari, whilst The Sunday Post report that Aberdeen midfielder Ryan Jack will undergo a medical ahead of joining the Gers on a free transfer.

Other names linked include Aberdeen midfielder Kenny McLean (The Scottish Sun), Ghanaian international defender Rashid Sumaila (Daily Mail), Hearts right back Callum Paterson (Daily Record), Aberdeen winger Niall McGinn (The Irish Sun) and Motherwell duo Louis Moult and Ben Heneghan (The Scottish Sun).

Caixinha will seemingly be busy in the transfer market, and striker Miller has now told the Daily Mail that he has been impressed with the quality of names being linked with moves to Ibrox this summer.

Miller added that the rest of the squad are ‘excited’ by the rumours, and they trust Caixinha to bring the right number of players in and the right quality that Rangers need.

“There have been some decent names mentioned and ones that definitely get the lads excited,” said Miller. “But there have been about 40 names so far. At a club like this you need competition and you need to be challenged. We put trust in the manager but there is no doubt it is key to get the right number in, the right quality and the right characters. If we get that then we will be okay,” he added.
