Rangers are preparing for Wednesday night’s Europa League final against Eintracht Frankfurt, and Leeds ace Stuart Dallas has wished Ibrox star Kemar Roofe luck. The duo played together at Elland Road.
Dallas, given his Northern Irish nationality, is known to be a Rangers fan and played alongside Roofe at Leeds for three years, between 2016 and 2019. Giovanni van Bronckhorst has declared that Roofe will be involved.
The striker has been sidelined with injury since picking up an injury against Braga in the quarter-finals – in which he scored, and created another to beat the Portuguese side after extra-time. He last played in April.
It is a dilemma for van Bronckhorst, who is likely to start Fashion Sakala up top. Ryan Kent will play on the left, and Aaron Ramsey could be on the right – as predicted by the Record. Roofe posted on Instagram ahead of the game.
Dallas wishes Rangers star Roofe luck ahead of Europa League final
So, do Rangers win the Europa League? A comment that would have been laughed at, when the Gers were in the group stages. Clubs like Lyon, Barcelona, West Ham and Dortmund have fallen by the way side.
Rangers have every chance. They take on a side that sit well below Dortmund and Leipzig – clubs the Gers have beaten on the way to the final – in the Bundesliga table. But Frankfurt have been better in Europe this term.
If Rangers can stop Filip Kostic, they can win the game. But there is no doubt, most eyes will be on the Frankfurt ace come Wednesday night.
