Joe Garner has admitted to Rangers’ official website that he was frustrated with his own performance during the side’s narrow defeat to Aberdeen at Pittodrie.
The summer signing was unable to get onto the scoresheet against Derek McInnes’ men, and had to look on as a stoppage-time free-kick from James Maddison ensured that it was the home side that took the points, around 10 minutes after Andy Halliday’s penalty had levelled the scores.
And Garner – who the Light Blues spent £1.5m on during the window (via talkSPORT) – conceded that his failure to contribute was an additional disappointment in conjunction with the overall result.
“I had a couple of chances; the keeper turned it around the post and I had a header that took a deflection and went for a corner,” he told the club’s official website.

“On another day I could have had a couple so I am very frustrated but we’ll go again.”
Given the amount of money that was spent on bringing him to Ibrox, Mark Warburton will be hoping that the former Preston man begins to find his shooting boots in the coming weeks.
In the four appearances the forward has made for the club, he has scored just once. And while that goal came in the Old Firm contest, the result on that day means that most supporters will be hoping to forget the game as soon as possible.
And with Martyn Waghorn and Kenny Miller scoring fairly often this term, the 28-year-old will know that he needs to start justifying the Scottish Premiership side’s decision to spend the money they did on him otherwise he could soon find himself further down the pecking order.
