Rangers defender Leon Balogun has praised Celtic midfielder Scott Brown in Kicker for his gesture towards his Ibrox teammate Glen Kamara.

Steven Gerrard’s Rangers took on bitter Old Firm rivals Celtic away from home at Celtic Park in the Scottish Premiership earlier this month.

The Gers had already won the title, ending the Hoops’ dream of making it 10 in a row.

Games between Rangers and Celtic are always very intense, with the rivalry between the two Glasgow giants very bitter.

However, there was a moment of real solidarity and class before the Scottish Premiership game at Celtic Park.

Celtic captain Brown, who will leave the Hoops at the end of the season, walked over to Kamara while the midfielder was warming up with his Rangers teammates, as shown below.

Brown’s stand was a show of unity in the wake of Kamara being the subject of alleged racist abuse from Ondrej Kudela of Slavia Prague during the Europa League game at Ibrox just days before the Old Firm derby, as reported by BBC Sport.

Rangers defender Balogun has praised Celtic star Brown for his gesture towards Kamara.

Balogun told Kicker, as translated by The Scottish Sun: “But I take off my hat to Scott Brown for what he did, that was unbelievable.

“It was a very, very big gesture. Also for what he said after the game about some things being bigger than football.”
