Rangers star Steven Davis has sent his congratulations to former Ibrox and Northern Ireland team-mate David Healy after his Linfield side equalled Rangers’ world record of 55 domestic top-flight titles – admitting he was delighted for Northern Ireland’s record goalscorer.

Healy’s side sealed their 55th title earlier this week, and Davis has been impressed with the way his former team-mate has dealt with the expectation at Northern Ireland’s most successful side.
“Dave has done excellently since he’s gone in there,” Davis told BBC Northern Ireland. “It was a big job to take for his first one.
“He knew the pressure that was going to come with the job and he’s delivered once again this season. I’m delighted for him.”
Healy has been a huge success at Linfield since he was appointed in October 2015, winning four league titles for the Blues.
Double triumph for Linfield after levelling Rangers on 55
The Belfast side also won the Irish Cup, beating Larne in the final, to secure a domestic double ahead of their move to full-time football next season.
With Healy continuing to impress at Windsor Park, it wouldn’t be a surprise to see the former Rangers striker return to Great Britain and take charge of a club in either Scotland or England.

While their 55th title won’t be greeted with scenes quite like those when Rangers won theirs back in March, it is a phenomenal achievement from Linfield.
