Glasgow Rangers loanee Declan John holds superstar as inspiration.

Glasgow Rangers full-back Declan John may be part of a struggling team at Ibrox – but he has high ambitions for himself.
John is on loan at Rangers from Cardiff City, and regards fellow Welshman Gareth Bale as an inspiration.
Bale switched from being a full-back to a winger and Rangers loanee John has recently taken the opposite approach.

Speaking to the Scotsman, the Rangers ace said: “Gareth was playing left-back and everyone could see that wasn’t his proper position.
“As soon as he got moved up he turned into a totally different player, doing so well for Spurs and now playing for the one of the biggest in the world.
“Maybe I could go the other way, establish myself as a left back.”
The 22-year-old has been a regular for the Gers in recent weeks, and is currently playing under caretaker boss Graeme Murty.
He will hope he can retain his place under Rangers’ next manager, who could even have a difference of opinion over John’s best position.
His future could even lie back with Cardiff City long term, but for now John can just take it a week at a time, and concentrate on helping Rangers snap out of their poor run of form.
