Celtic’s Kieran Tierney is a doubt to face Rangers.

Celtic star Kieran Tierney is battling an injury and is a major doubt to take on Rangers at Ibrox.

The Daily Record report Tierney will face a late fitness test on his hip problem.

Tierney being out will be a huge boost for Rangers and a big dilemma for Celtic.

The real winner could be Rangers attacker Daniel Candeias.

Tierney has effectively limited Candeias’ impact in previous Old Firm games between the two sides.

In addition to his attacking qualities, stopping Candeias is where Tierney will be most prominently missed.

The problem for Celtic is that they do not really have an effective replacement.

Emilio Izaguirre was a desperation signing in the summer and he has looked poor upon his return.

Candeias could have a field day going up against the Honduran international.

Another option for Celtic is to play out of favour winger Jonny Hayes at left-back, which is far from ideal.

Candeias provided the assist in Rangers’ draw with Hibs and has netted three goals in his last nine league games.

Celtic have shackled him well in recent ties, but if Tierney does not play, the Portuguese winger stands a far better chance of being the matchwinner Rangers desperately want him to be.
